Looking for an exciting opportunity to continue your career in finance and banking? We are seeking a motivated individual to join our finance team as a Senior Staff Accountant. Reporting directly to the CFO/CEO, you'll be responsible for a range of tasks to keep our finances organized and running smoothly. As part of this role, you will be responsible for managing part of the organization’s accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting functions. The individual should be well versed in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. This position works on-site, in an office setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:*
- Contribute to the preparation of financial documents for Boards and Committees.
- Help to prepare financial analysis of the Credit Union’s quarterly and annual reports.
- Participate in preparation of all financial reports for the Credit Union’s shareholders and regulators.
- Oversee Accounting Department operations to ensure the integrity of all financial records and the timely and accurate preparation of all financial management and regulatory reports.
- Post journal entries, conduct daily reconciliations for different types of transactions (Debit Cards, ACH, …), verify and post checks, perform wire transfers.
- Work closely with other departments to research discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze Asset Liability reports and present results to the Asset Liability Committee and Board as needed.
- Assist with regulatory filings.
- Accurate preparation of all financial management and regulatory reports.
- Other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS*
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related work experience
- Minimum 5 to 7 years financial analyses and accounting. Banking preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft applications, including Excel
- Proficiency in the use of software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and accounting related software
- Knowledge of ad-hoc financial reporting tools
- Knowledge and understanding of budgeting and forecasting processes preferred
- Knowledge of accounting and the associated rules and regulations
